The Deadbeat Zaddy Files is a field journal documenting what happens after a man stops living someone else’s script.
Not because everything fell apart.
Because the old story stopped making sense.
For years I did everything I was supposed to do. I built the career. I got married. Bought the house. Chased stability. From the outside, it looked like success. From the inside, I couldn’t shake the feeling that I was living a life I’d inherited rather than one I’d consciously chosen.
After my marriage collapsed, I realized something.
I wasn’t rebuilding from failure.
I was rebuilding from clarity.
That’s what this publication documents.
Not a redemption arc.
Not a self-help journey.
A reconstruction.
What This Is
The Deadbeat Zaddy Files is a collection of observations, experiments, and field notes from the rebuild.

Who I Am
I’m a senior software engineer.
A father.
And someone who spent years trying to reconcile two different worlds.
By day, I built software and climbed the corporate ladder. Outside of work, I found myself studying subjects that rarely made it into polite conversation: attraction, incentives, human nature, power, social dynamics, and masculine identity.
For a long time, I believed those worlds could coexist.
Eventually they collided.
My marriage ended.
I moved into a one-bedroom apartment.
I became a weekend dad.
And I started documenting everything.
Not because I had all the answers.
Because I wanted to understand what had actually happened.
Over time, that private documentation became this publication.
You’re not reading a finished philosophy.
You’re watching it develop in real time.
Who This Is For
This is for the man who suspects there’s more to life than checking the next box.
